Here you will find more than just a place to live – you’ll find a foundation for growth and opportunities. Every individual deserves a safe, comfortable place to live for themselves and their families.

The Greater North Foundation offers affordable homes for low to moderate income households within the regions we serve. All applications are assessed based on the need for housing with priority for the next available unit going to the applicant in most need. Need is determined by a number of factors including but not limited to income, assets, number of dependents and current housing condition.

Greater North Foundation has a NO PET policy for the Independent Supportive Housing units.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING

Eligibility Requirements

Must be in core housing need (currently live in an unsuitable, inadequate or unaffordable dwelling and cannot afford alternative housing in their community)

Must possess assets (property, cash and liquid assets) valued at $25,000 or less. Excluded from this limit are essential items such as clothing, furnishings, and a primary vehicle

Consists of Canadian citizens, individuals lawfully admitted into Canada for permanent residence, refugees sponsored by the Government of Canada, or individuals who have applied for refugee or immigration status and for whom private sponsorship has broken down

Meets the residency requirements, if any, prescribed by the management body

Applicants must complete an application, including all required information and supporting documentation.

As rental rates are based on a percentage of income, all members of a household (22 year of age and older) will be required to submit their most recent Notice of Assessment along with their application. Placements are made on a priority basis.
