Welcome to Our Website
The Greater North Foundation has been serving the affordable housing needs of the citizens living in our Member Municipalities since 1960. Visit the "About Us" page for more information on our history. We offer a number of housing solutions for seniors and for low income families and individuals.
Seniors may choose from independent apartment living or benefit from nutritious meals, recreational programs and the security of having 24-hour staffing in our supportive living facilities. Click on the "Seniors Housing" link for more information.
Low Income families and individuals are offered rental accommodation operated by the Foundation with rents based on income or may receive a rent assistance benefit to help pay rent where they currently reside. Click on the "Non Senior Housing" link for more information.
Please Note:
The Government of Alberta has redesigned its Rent Supplement Program to meet the needs of more Albertans, including working families and those most in need.
Starting April 1, 2021, we are now accepting applications for the “Rent Assistance Benefit”. Formerly, the Direct to Tenant Rent Supplement, this long-term benefit will continue to subsidize low income Albertans.

Our Mission
The Greater North Foundation Management Body provides accommodations for those individuals in need of Social Housing, Seniors’ Self-Contained Units, or Seniors’ Lodging. The Management Body encourages all individuals residing in these units to remain independent by providing them with housing that is affordable, comfortable, and safe.
